Anonymous Tips & Rewards for Information Crime Stoppers & Siuslaw Stop Crime
Members of our community are encouraged to report their observations about anything seen suspicious, including unusual behavior of individuals anywhere within the City of Florence. The Florence Police Department understands that at times citizens may be reluctant or hesitant to become involved in the reporting of information in various situations for fear of being identified as the source of information leading to a police response. This is seen typically in incidents where drugs and/or narcotics activities, including the distribution, delivery, or sales of controlled substances are involved.
For those citizens who want to report anonymously information to the Police Department may call and leave a message on the Florence Police Department's Anonymous Tip Line of 541-997-9604 either anonymously or who identify themselves for follow up contact. If information is left anonymously, callers are asked to leave as much detailed information including names, monikers, addresses or descriptive locations, general physical descriptive identifiers, i.e. height, weight, hair color and length, clothing description, etc., vehicle license plates, vehicles, description of vehicles, and other information relating to what is observed.
Rewards may also be available. Siuslaw Stop Crime, in affiliation with Crime Stoppers Cascades, are collaborating with local law enforcement, local media, and the community itself to help bring information to the attention of law enforcement that would not otherwise be available. The decision of whether to offer any reward for information in connection with any specific crime is with the Siuslaw Stop Crime group only, which is a non-profit organization independent of any law enforcement agency. Various rewards may be paid to those whose information that are instrumental in the arrest and/or conviction for criminal offenses that these private non-profit groups authorize. Law enforcement agencies remain only the recipient of the specific relevant information pertaining to criminal investigations and nothing else.
